From Rachel: Days of Our Gurney Lives

Dear Everyone,

I am so glad that we finally got on the blog spot and read everyone's things and saw all the pictures! How blessed we are to be part of such a family and to share such great (and not-so-great) experiences!

Javan wants to say something, so here goes: This is something funny I am writing. kdtnhvdorthckhvnjkjhgfvchtgockrhnvrhngrhnvr

So, I hope you all enjoyed that exerpt from Javan.

We just got high-speed internet and we are excited to be somewhat, partially civilized. Now we need to know again, Mindy, how to post things on the blog spot, so will you so kindly re-invite us? Thanks for your patience with us.

Mark and Cherie, hope all is well in South Bend. You guys are awesome. I hope Cherie is enjoying her yoga, dancing and teaching experiences. Mark, I hope this semester is going well for you and you are loving what you are learning!

Mindy and Rich, you are amazing. It seems that you are doing really well! What great attitudes you have and excitement for life! It is mind-boggling to me to think of what you have lived in just a few short weeks! It is truly eye-opening. I am excited for you guys. Give our love to the cutest nephews in India. Our kids miss their cousins very, very much.

Nelee, Jeremy, and Brandon -- we are SO glad that at least we can still see you three in person! We're looking very forward to having you come to dinner next Fast Sunday!

And as for you, Nana and Grandpa -- teaching seminary---- YAHOO!!!!!!!!! What experiences are awaiting you, I can only imagine. This will be an opportunity of a lifetime. Those youth you will be teaching are very, very blessed. You WILL BE GREAT. This is so exciting!!!!!!!!! Also, those photos of NZ are sooo... beautiful.

Here is a run-down on what's up with us. Ryan working, working working because it's tax season. Home late every night, except for Wednesdays but then he goes to Mutual. Our kids take turns going with him, one at a time. They love that. Javan is looking very forward, um, actually, he's bursting with anticipation, that he's going to be NINE in NINE days! Clara is happy (most of the time), and emotional. She wants to say that she is excited that she has two really loose teeth (top, front), she is enjoying Liberty Girls Club, and she is sad that your starfish died. Eli is happy with his new friend named Rylan. They have played together a couple of times, and he likes to play with Dorian and Rylan now. Today he was riding his trike outside in the snow with bare feet, and playing in the sandbox. (It was actually pretty warm - almost 50 degrees.) His favorite new trick is to come up behind me when I'm not looking and slip his hands under my shirt and tickle my sides and hear me scream. He loves to milk Bessie our cow. What we do nearly every day is he gets the pail of dirty rags in our kitchen and takes them down to the laundry room to empty it. That's one of his chores. But when he does it, I have to say in a cowboy voice, "HEE HAW, IT'S TIME TO MILK BESSIE THE COW!" and we go down, empty the pail, "milk the cow", and bring the pail back upstairs. It's a lot of fun. Pollydolly loves singing "happy birthday" to Nana and Grandpa lately (when they are not here, of course), and she humors us once in a while by going choosha on the toilet.

That's all folks, hope you have a great day! Love you all very much.

Rachel
